Buggin' for a Cure

My new clogging team, the Tennessee Thunder Cloggers (www.facebook.com/CloggingWithRenee) will be performing at the first annual "Buggin' for a Cure". This event is hosted by The Northeast Tennessee Volkswagen Association, the Tourism Department of Greene County Partnership and the Greene County Fair Association and will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Greeneville, Tennessee. The event is on September 22 from 8am to 8pm and on September 23 from 8am to 2pm. The event is an all Volkswagen car show with Volkswagen vendors, local food and live entertainment. The cloggers, along with Winter & Co Dance Studio (www.winterandcompanydancestudio.com) will be performing on Sunday, September 23 at 11:30am. All proceeds for this event will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. One-day admission is only $5 and two-day admission is $7 - kids 12 and under are admitted FREE.

Forklift Operator I don't know if there's anything more awesome than watching my child experience things that I got to experience in my childhood. For those of you who know my family and my background, you know that I was raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina (and when I mean in the mountains - I mean literally, IN the mountains)! The Best Is Yet To Come

Matt & I  - Little Rock, Arkansas Texas Road Trip 2008 5 years ago (this month), I went on my first road trip with Matt. Matt's Mom was moving to Texas and I decided to ride along with Matt as he pulled a trailer from Indiana (he stopped in Tennessee to pick me up) to Texas. I have heard that it's a long trip but we were so busy getting know each other that the time flew by. I have to say that being stuck in a vehicle with somebody for that long is a good way to figure out if you like them or not. :-) Lucky for us, it was just the first of MANY road trips to come. 4 years ago (next month), I moved to Indiana to be with Matt. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made, but it was definitely the right one! Moving to Indiana helped me grow in so many ways. Brining

I could say I have never heard of the word "brining" before, but that wouldn't be 100% accurate. I think I've "heard" the word but I haven't ever paid attention to what it was...until now! I got a few chicken breasts at the grocery store the other day and I was looking for new ways to bake them. I always bake them because it's supposed to be "healthier" (even though I usually have a bowl of ice cream for dessert)!
