We're Pregnant!!!

Matt and I moved from Indiana to Tennessee in March 2012. We just decided it was time to start over and come to the mountains to raise our family. We had no jobs, no place to live and no plan (I, for the first time, had no plan at all and wasn't even worried about it) and we just moved. I trusted God had a plan for us and that He would provide, and provide He has. :)) Matt and I had decided that we were ready to think about having our first baby, but we weren't trying to get pregnant. I finished out my birth control for the month and didn't think another thing about preventing or trying for a baby. Well...on May 17th, I peed on a stick and our lives were changed forever! It didn't take long for that 1 line to turn to 2 lines and tell me "yep, you're pregnant". It was the best feeling in the world. I stood there in the bathroom just staring down at this little stick. I felt every emotion you can feel and I thanked God right then for this blessing in our lives. I waited what felt like hours for Matt to get home and when he came in the door, he said he already knew. I showed him the results and his face lit up and he smiled at me and we knew that we were going to have a family :))

Forklift Operator I don't know if there's anything more awesome than watching my child experience things that I got to experience in my childhood. For those of you who know my family and my background, you know that I was raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina (and when I mean in the mountains - I mean literally, IN the mountains)! We lived on a dirt road near my Grandparents and my Uncle Pat and Aunt Teri. My family ran a sawmill and raised a small patch of tobacco, so my sister and I made lots of toys out of sawdust (makes great toppings for dirt pizza), mud (cupcakes), sticks, slabs, horse buggies and everything else we could get our hands on. The Best Is Yet To Come

Matt & I  - Little Rock, Arkansas Texas Road Trip 2008 5 years ago (this month), I went on my first road trip with Matt. Matt's Mom was moving to Texas and I decided to ride along with Matt as he pulled a trailer from Indiana (he stopped in Tennessee to pick me up) to Texas. I have heard that it's a long trip but we were so busy getting know each other that the time flew by. I have to say that being stuck in a vehicle with somebody for that long is a good way to figure out if you like them or not. :-) Lucky for us, it was just the first of MANY road trips to come. 4 years ago (next month), I moved to Indiana to be with Matt. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made, but it was definitely the right one! Moving to Indiana helped me grow in so many ways. Brining

I could say I have never heard of the word "brining" before, but that wouldn't be 100% accurate. I think I've "heard" the word but I haven't ever paid attention to what it was...until now! I got a few chicken breasts at the grocery store the other day and I was looking for new ways to bake them. I always bake them because it's supposed to be "healthier" (even though I usually have a bowl of ice cream for dessert)!
